Kitchen Porter

Job Summary
Chigwell Golf Club are seeking to recruit a kitchen porter who has the drive and ability to work in a busy kitchen, helping the chefs prepare and deliver a daily food & beverage service. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a small, well organised team. If you are looking to kick start your career as a chef in the kitchen, then we may also have the opportunity to train and develop you in the longer term.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Reports to the Head Chef and/or Chef on duty
• Washes crockery, utensils and other kitchenware
• To assist with the receipt of catering deliveries and with general house-keeping of store areas
• To clean all designated areas and equipment during and after service
• To assist in the preparation and service of functions and events
• To operate dishwashers and pot washers
• Ensure high levels of cleanliness, safety and compliance are maintained every day
• Keeping all shelves & fridges stocked and in correct rotation

Qualifications and Skills
• Training will be provided by the Club
• Candidates must be reliable and able to work well under pressure as part of a small team
• Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and COSHH
• Previous health and safety training is desirable
• A flexibility to work weekends and evenings

Preferred Experience:
1 year in a bar, club, pub, café, restaurant or similar preferred but not essential

Salary: Competitive hourly rate depending on age and experience.
